In just her third-career UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup race, Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Spike-Shooter) rode to a victory in the third race of the nine-race series on Sunday in Pijnacker, Holland. Compton finished 34 seconds ahead of Dutchwoman Daphny van de Brand to capture the win. The victory was her second World Cup podium performance of the season after placing second in the season opener in Kalmthout, Belgium last month. Selection procedures for Treviso Worlds are up on the USAC website. Make sure you read carefully and understand everything if you're aspiring to make the team. The one big change for the women, espoirs and juniors is that the petition due date is December 10. So, before Nationals this year. Go to usacycling.org and then to "Athlete Programs" on the left side bar. Then to "Team Selections" and then to "Cyclocross".
