Few things work ‘cross fans to a boil like a good ‘cross photo. Virtually all of the photos on this site so far are the work of Joe Sales from Vancouver, BC and I sure do appreciate his work. Thanks my friend!

I met Joe several years ago through our connections with Rad Racing and last December, Joe and his wonderful family–wife Sarah, Paul (16), Pat (13), and Johnny (8)–spent their Christmas break in Belgium going to all the races. They were also at Worlds in Hooglede before heading to New Zealand for Sarah’s six-month physician appointment.

During his time in Europe, Joe shot a ton of great shots which grace these website pages and he continues to work hard to establish himself as a photographer of athletes in particular. Joe has been racing ‘cross for over 20 years and still loves it along with marathon mountain biking. I will miss having Joe around the camp this year but he says he might try to get to Italy for Worlds.

Definitely check out his extensive galleries on smugmug. Just type in under people “Joe Sales” and you’ll see all of his photos.   Joe tells me he will be in Portland for the final USGP’s this weekend, so I imagine we’ll have a new batch of all the action. Everyone’s on their A game now. See you there!
