Hanging with a rock star. ECXC VI riders hang with Alum Jeremy Powers.
Eric Emsky 21.12.2008 “…To me, camp is an opportunity to race my brains out and have some fun. I love racing in Belgium as it presents a whole slew of new challenges.”
Jeremy Ferguson 22.12.2008 “…For some reason this has been a really rough year for travel – almost everyone has had some sort of hang up on their way to Belgium. For myself it was a four-hour delay in Newark, New Jersey, on account of freezing rain and a good amount of snow on the ground, which had Cody Kaiser and myself stuck on the tarmac bored to death.”
David Hackworthy 23.12.2008 “…Today being my first day at camp, Bjorn Selander, Andrew Llewellyn and I went training this morning. Completely out of my element, I had not a clue where I was for the entire ride, let alone a sense of direction with the typical gloomy grey days that take place much too often in Belgium. Luckily for me, Bjorn did.”
Joe Dombrowski 24.12.2008 “…as we opened the door I was confronted by the stench of alcohol and smoke which was billowing out the bar’s front door. I stepped inside and was met by the stares of old Belgian men. It seemed as though they were about as curious about us as we were about them.”
Cody Kaiser 24.12.2008 “…So far we have had one race on Sunday that went well for all of us. In the junior race we all finished in the top 15 and on the U23 side we had three guys in the top 10. Those are definitely some respectable finishes for us getting off a plane less than 24 hours prior.”
Cody Cox 24.12.2008 “…The next day, I was not able to race because, well, I could not breathe so I had the privilege of riding with big-time pro Matt Shriver, Gavin Mannion of Hot Tubes and Will Dugan of Richard Sachs bikes. We decided to do an easy-long ride to Roubaix, France…”
