Time and again, we hear from riders during their first racing experiences at ‘cross races here in Belgium that the level of competition is higher and that every rider attacks the course with an un-paralleled intensity.  No matter if you are racing for the top five or the top 50, every rider is looking to beat you into the next turn, to chop you, block you, and overall make it hard for you.  That’s just the way it is on the Euro parcourse.  In the latest EuroCrossCamp Diary Entry, Logan Owen expresses that you don’t need just an aggressive approach: “All of the races I have competed in here have shown me how tough and aggressive you have to be to get top finishes over here. Not to mention you need a little luck. Without all the support from the mechanics, Geoff, and the soigneur’s none of us could be doing nearly as well as we are right now.”  And doing well, he is.  Logan has been consistently placing in the top 10 in all the races here at EuroCrossCamp and even pulling down a 5th at Zolder.

Logan also realizes that it isn’t all about the bike: “I am very glad I got to be here at this camp because not only will it help me in future International ‘cross races but it will help in life as I have learned many life skills while at the camp.”

Logan Owen comes to ECXC IX from Bellingham, Washington where he rides for Redline Bicycles.
